SlowProv with David Milchard: Saturday November 14th- 3-6pm

From “never tried it” to “I love improv more than anything else”, an improv workshop designed for everyone. Recharge & rediscover your joyful, creative self in a safe space guided by David Milchard.  This workshop will focus on staying grounded, listening, over accepting (in a good way!) and trusting yourself.

Let’s take our time and be in the moment!

Who is David Milchard?

David Milchard is an actor, writer, director, producer, and improviser, and co-founder of The Comedy Department in Vancouver. A Second City and Vancouver TheatreSports League alumnus, he's performed at Just For Laughs, Bumbershoot, and other festivals across North America, and co-created the viral series Convos With My 2-Year-Old (125M+ views). He teaches improv for corporate training, leadership, and communication skills, with an approach rooted in "yes, and" — curiosity, acceptance, and building on what's offered.

Attack your Hesitation with Margret Nyfor: Saturday January 23rd- 3-6pm

This is the broccoli of improv—you won't necessarily like it, but it's good for you.

Here's what happens in scenes: hesitation creeps in. You feel that urge to inject something, to shift the scene, to offer an idea. But you hold back. You don't want to interrupt. You don't trust yourself. You get in your head.

But here's the truth: when you commit. When you trust your intuition. When you attack the scene with boldness and vulnerability—you're not interrupting. You're giving a GIFT.

You're lifting the scene. You're injecting life. You're propelling the story forward. You're giving your fellow players exactly what they need when the scene has stalled. You're supporting them by showing up fully.

Attack Your Hesitation is about learning to trust yourself. About committing fully. About understanding that your ideas, your instincts, your bold choices are exactly what make improv magic happen.

Led by improv veteran Margret Nyfor, this workshop will challenge you, stretch you, and remind you why you fell in love with play in the first place.

Who is Margret Nyfor?

Margret is a professional improvisor, actor and writer who lives in Squamish, BC. Over the past 25+ years, Margret honed her improv skills on stages in Vancouver, Chicago, LA, Seattle, San Francisco, and Atlanta. She is a main stage alumnus of the Vancouver Theatre Sports League (now known as the Improv Centre). During her years at VTS, she was the Director of Public Education for the Improv Comedy Institute where she taught and developed the curriculum. Currently, Margret is doing shows with her funny friends at The Comedy Department every Saturday in the West End of Vancouver.

Margaret adores her dog and camping. She will talk about these topics non-stop if you let her.
