  • Simple Fun Stories with Margret

The ability to tell a simple and clear story on stage is crucial for improv success. When performing improv, we do not have a script. To be a good improviser, we need to be able to work with our team to tell a great story based on an audience suggestion. In this class, we will play with the five main elements needed to tell a simple story. We will also explore character growth and the need for strong, clear, logical offers. Finally, we will also play with stakes and create endings for our stories. Our goal is to tell fun-filled stories that are entertaining and memorable.

Margret is a professional improvisor, actor and writer who lives in Squamish, BC. Over the past 25+ years, Margret honed her improv skills on stages in Vancouver, Chicago, LA, Seattle, San Francisco, and Atlanta. She is a main stage alumnus of the Vancouver Theatre Sports League (now known as the Improv Centre). During her years at VTS, she was the Director of Public Education for the Improv Comedy Institute where she taught and developed the curriculum. Currently, Margret is doing shows with her funny friends at The Comedy Department every Saturday in the West End of Vancouver. Margaret adores her dog and camping. She will talk about these topics non-stop if you let her.
